    Hi Mikko,

I’m having an issue with building the index on a site. It hangs early on whenever I enable expand shortcodes. What’s best practice to locate the page with the problem shortcode on it?

If it matters, I’m using theme.co’s Pro theme on this site.

The Relevanssi indexing page shows the lowest post ID indexed. The problem shortcode appears in the next post in descending order of post ID. That’s one approach.

In general, shortcodes that query posts tend to cause problems.

Hi Mikko, thanks for the reply. So when I see this in the index progress box:

    Indexed 10 posts (total 10), processed 10 / 1940.
    Indexed 105 posts (total 115), processed 115 / 1940.

The problem post ID might be 116?

No, Relevanssi starts from the latest posts and goes through the post IDs in descending order. The “State of the index” shows the lowest post ID indexed.

Hey Mikko, slight oddity. The last post indexed show 72464. The next post to be indexed – presumably the problem post would be 72463. But it’s an image. There are no short codes. Why might it hang up on this?

We don’t need the images indexed so I added the code from your website: https://www.relevanssi.com/knowledge-base/controlling-attachment-types-index/

But it still stops in the same spot.

If Relevanssi doesn’t index images, then the next post in line is not that image. So go through the post IDs in descending order until you find an indexable post.
