I installed and activated WordFence 7.11.5 and cannot use any of the features, including the dashboard, due to the blocking message, “You must install a license to continue using Wordfence.”

    Suggestions welcome.

    Hi @pwforaker,?

You will need to install a free license key by clicking Resume Installation > Get Your Wordfence License in the Wordfence dashboard or banner.  There’s a helpful guide and video regarding installation of your free key here if you’re having trouble: https://www.wordfence.com/help/api-key/#installing-your-free-license-key

    I hope this helps!

Thanks, Margaret, but there is no “Resume Installation,” only “Upgrade to Premium.” Now I see on the WF dashboard: “Premium Protection Disabled, license is expired.”

    Hi @pwforaker,

Please delete the currently installed plugin, reinstall Wordfence using the free license, and start a scan on the site.  Please let us know if you continue to have any issues after activating the free license.

Per the forum rules, we’re not allowed to discuss Premium here, but please reach out to us at presales @ wordfence . com if you have any questions about it.

    Thanks,
    Margaret
