    Hello,

when I scan for cookies is always found so many unknown cookies I never used on my site, about 78 cookies but I use about 23. They are also not synced with cookiedatabase.org as they all shown as unknown, but they are Facebook/TikTok known by the database. I never used TikTok or Facebook on my site. Sync button is also grey. They cannot be even modified or deleted. Despite I delete them in your wizard, they are shown next time again and again. I tried every possible scenario from disabling all caches to uninstall the plugin (do not remember data), reset, disabling sync, across different browsers (cookie-cleared). Still these same nonsense 78 cookies which cannot be modified or deleted. I have only 23 in dev tools or third-party scan tools.

    Can you help me, please?

    Hello,

    thanks for your message.

Could you please provide us the website url? In the meantime you can check this guide https://complianz.io/cookie-scan-results/ on how our scanner works, it can be helpful to understand how to properly use our scanner.

    Hello,

Of course I tried your guide and as I said, I really tried all possible scenarios. I use the latest WordPress Multisite and the plugin is network activated, but somehow your plugin mix up your records in the database. One blog start to have even problem with its banner ID and I get blank (empty) error message over a cookie banner settings. Also, one blog remembers settings like “remove all data when uninstall” and the second blog isn’t remember this setting (correct) after complete deletion and reinstallation. Even after complete deletion and ticking this setting, your plugin doesn’t delete its data from the database and even using fresh browser your plugin still “scan” those 78 cookies which simply read from undeleted records in the database. So, despite I hate delete anything manually from the database I have been forced to delete all Complianz tables and records in the wp_options tables from the database. This was the only solution to help me completely remove Complianz from WP Multisite. This solved the issue for me but it’s a pain. I am sure you’ll reproduce this bug. I do not use any non-standard plugins or settings.

I solved this problem by deleting all Complianz records from the database, install the plugin again and network activated. I scanned cookies, but plugin doesn’t sync them, so I named them manually.

I tried to scan again, even I know you use an external scan (hybrid), count also with third-party services selected in wizard I get mixed results in the scan page (keeps the same initial cookies and doesn’t match the reality), in the sync page (some additional cookies from the scan but still doesn’t match the reality) and the dev tools / third-party scan tools (actual cookies).

    Hello again,

thanks for the update and the workaround.

I’ll report your feedback to the dev team in order to analyze it, anyway we’re improving the scanner month by month and this issue will be solved as soon as possible. Unfortunately as you know every website has particularities which can affect the functioning of the scanner (for example the hosting company too) so it can happen that for some websites the result may be different from what is expected.

Just to be sure I checked both websites:

    1) https://skyfreebies.co.uk – I found in the website code there are scripts referred to buttons of Facebook and TikTok, so it’s correct the scanner find them
    2) https://skyfreebies.net – I found a button referred to Facebook, so it’s correct the scanner find it

    Hello,

    Thank you for your response.

I would like to clarify, that these sites contain just links to social media, but no scripts of any kind.

On the other side, LinkedIn or YouTube post embeds on the second mentioned site are not detected at all.

So, the scan is not working, even after further testing and sync is not working as well.

Looking forward to fix this issue.
