GLA is transmitting the weight as “lbs”. That is not a valid unit for Merchant Center. Choices are g, kg, lb (no “s”), and oz.

All of my listings have invalid weights.

  • Hi @pldoolittle,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand how important it is to have accurate weight measurements for your products, especially when it comes to integrating with Google Merchant Center. To set the correct units for your shipping_weight, you can follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Products in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Here, you’ll find the Measurement Settings where you can configure the units for weight and dimensions.
    3. Once you’re in the Measurement Settings, you can select the appropriate unit of measurement for your weight (g, kg, lb, or oz) that matches the requirements of the Merchant Center.

After setting the units, you’ll need to ensure that each product’s weight is entered correctly:

    1. Go to the Product Page and select the Shipping tab.
    2. Enter the product’s weight in the field provided, making sure to use the unit you’ve set in the Measurement Settings.

It’s also important to note that all values should be entered in decimal form without any special characters or letters (e.g., use “5” or “5.5” instead of “5lbs”). If the weight unit in your WooCommerce settings is currently set to “lbs” with the “s” at the end, changing it to “lb” should resolve the issue with GLA transmission.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

My settings only show the plural version, lbs. How do I get this changed to lb?

    Hi @pldoolittle,

I’ve found other cases with the same issue and opened a Github report for our developers to look into it. In the meantime, @chopperstwisted has found a workaround to set up a rule to change “lbs” to “lb” in GMC to fix this for the time being. You can follow the github issue for more details here.

    Cheers!
