Problem with WordPress/WooCommerce menu

Good morning,

I come to you because recently our website was updated to the latest version of WordPress. At the same time, I also took the opportunity to clean the website, which contained almost 50 extensions (it’s that of a friend) of which more than half were no longer useful.

So far everything had gone well: I deactivated, I checked, if OK I let it deactivate.

Today this friend is browsing his website on the front end and when changing the menu he realizes that it no longer works correctly. After several tries I noticed that the entire menu is broken: the products are no longer sorted at all and all appear systematically, regardless of the category.

By deactivating the extensions this is a point on which I had not checked, however here is what I found in my investigation:

• Our website is built on Elementor
• The categories still exist and the products are well classified, nothing has changed
• When I change category, the filter also changes
• The breadcrumbs also change
• I use the menu provided by WordPress and not a third party extension, which is why I doubt that deleting all these extensions will be the problem
• I added another menu or another WordPress menu and nothing changes
• In the menu management settings nothing has changed

All of this leads me to the following thought. Products are no longer sorted according to their category selection at all and that is the only problem to raise because everything else works. Since I use the native WordPress menu, no extension is linked to it, which leads me to think that either there is a conflict somewhere despite my deletions, or the problem is due to the latest version of WordPress.

I am not a Full Stack developer but only Front End oriented on WordPress. I did not choose to use Elementor: I recovered this website which was a disaster as part of my training and I made do with the means at hand, while waiting to redo a new structure. My skills are therefore limited and if there is a problem with the Back End I am unable to find it.
