Is there a way to import data from a spreed sheet to create new locations? Or do you need the Pro Version?

Hello! To use the spreadsheet importer, Pro is needed. However, you could convert a CSV into a geoJSON and upload it that way using a tool like Mapshaper.com!

Let me know if this helps.

I created a simple spreadsheet in Google Sheets, converted it from a CSV to geoJSON, and then tried to use the Data Importer to import the file, based on this:
    https://wpmaps-docs.mapster.me/fundamentals/global-settings/import#import-from-spreadsheet

But… I don’t see where it imported anything to Locations.

Can you provide a little more explanation on getting this to work? Thanks

Hello, this depends what your geoJSON looks like, it may not be formatted correctly. You may actually have an easier time with just a few locations entering in the latitude and longitude manually. However, if you want some more help please paste a screenshot or upload of what your geoJSON file looks like and I can let you know if it’s formatted correctly.

Yeah… I’ve gone ahead and input them all manually. Just to know it is possible, and how to get it to work.

This is the conversion I made at mapshaper.org… it is now .org by the way. It seems the .com address is dead.

Ah. Yes the mapshaper converter didn’t do a good job here. They must have a specific format they require for the CSVs, since it didn’t put any coordinates in. Ultimately your import definitely would have been easiest with the spreadsheet importer, but converting to geoJSON is not too complicated, it’s just necessary that you know the format for it. I’m glad you got the locations in in any case!
