    I want to select Woocommerce products (courses) by category. I use the WordPress “Product categories” widget. Products are assigned to more than one category (e.g. time-of-day, weekday, venue). When I select one category (e.g. Samstagskurse), not only those products are shown, but also others held at the same venue. I want to select exclusively those from the category I choose. Am I doing something wrong or how can I restrict the selection to a single category?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @greyowl,

    When I select one category (e.g. Samstagskurse), not only those products are shown, but also others held at the same venue.

    Did you mean a product is showing up that isn’t part of the selected category?

    Since you’ve selected multiple categories for one product, could you please check whether all the products shown are assigned to that category or not?

    For better assistance, can you provide a video showing the category selection for each product? For video, you may use https://loom.com or https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/. Please follow the instructions on that page and then paste the URL into this thread.

    In the meantime, you can run a conflict test to help you identify the cause of the issue. More info: https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Let us know how that goes for you. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks for responding, Shameen.

    Yes, products show up that aren’t part of the selected category. I assign multiple categories for one product, but I don’t select multiple categories.

    I just recorded a Loom explaining my problem with Woocommerce product categories in Beaver Builder. Check it out here: https://www.loom.com/share/7eefcb973d8b48c69d5bac92c3b1a115?src=composer.

    On your Themer Archive layout, the Content tab in your Products module should be set to Main Query, not Custom Query for the right products to show on your archives.

    See here for more details:
    https://docs.wpbeaverbuilder.com/beaver-themer/integrations/woocommerce/products-module-for-woocommerce-archive-themer-layouts

    As for you why you have to select 2 locations, you don’t have to but if you want that layout to apply to both your Products Archive (Shop Page) and your category archives, then you need to select both locations.

    * **Product archive**
    Applies to the Shop page (or an archive page you have designated instead of Shop).
    * **Product category archive**
    Applies to any single Category archive page, which will list all the products assigned to that category.

    Hi @greyowl,

    Thank you for providing such a detailed video explanation. I’ve watched the video multiple times and explored the documentation shared by @codente. From what I’ve gathered, the issue stems from the Beaver Builder and the specific settings you’ve employed.

    Could you please follow the guide shared by @codente and see whether it resolves the issue or not? If this makes no difference, it would be best to reach out to the Beaver plugin’s developers for further assistance.

    Rest assured, I’ve tested everything on my end using a default theme with standard settings and without any page builder. Everything appears to be working perfectly.

    I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Wow! I set the Content tab in my Products module to Main Query, as Jamie suggested, and it seems to work! Thanks. I can’t remember why I ever chose Custom Query.

    Hi @greyowl,

    That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know.

    I will mark this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

    Meanwhile, if it isn’t too much to ask for – would you mind leaving us a review here?

    It only takes a couple of minutes but helps us tremendously. It would mean so much to us and would go a really long way.

    Thanks!

    Glad to hear that @greyowl. I actually work for Beaver Builder so happy to hear that things are working as expected for you now ??
