I have a problem with the mail preheader. The preheader contains only part of a shortcode that is used to include a video. The consequence is that the video is not shown.
After adding a filter that returns an empty preheader the video is shown correctly.
However it is not clear to me what the function of the prehaeder is.
What is its function? Is it a problem if the preheader is empty?

    Hello @martenw,

Videos in e-mail do not work, as far as I know. Either way, it’s not a good idea to try to add a video to an email header.

I think I did not express myself very well. I do not want to include videos in the preheader., but want them added to the body of the email. The processing of the preheader does not remove the video shortcode from the preheader and as a consequence the video is not contained in the body of the email. As I mentioned before, after removeing the preheader everything works fine.
However I do not know what the preheader is meant for.

    Hello @martenw,

as stated above, the pre_header is for our preview functionality. As I do not know what exactly you are trying to do and what your set up looks like, I can not be of more help.
I would require further information to be able to help you.

    Best regards

I do not know what the preview functionality is. Which email applications do use this functionality? Is it problematic for some applications if the preheader is empty?

    Hello @martenw,

our plugin has a preview function in the “E-Mail template” options, where you configure the layout.

Concerning your last question, the pre_header is not being displayed, it’s needed for our plugins preview functionality. So I suppose it wouldn’t break any outgoing emails, but you should test them all thoroughly if you make custom changes. If you still require assistance, please email us to support(at)codemiq.com.

    Best regards
