Pending posts indicator

Hi all,

I run a multi-user blog, and we make extensive use of drafs and pending posts. I see that comments has an indicator bubble on the dashboard with the comments pending count.
I wonder why pending posts don’t have such a feature, since they are quite more important?

I found this related topic on the subject and this ticket.

Does anyone know if this is by design, or is it supposed to be fixed sometime in the future? Am I the only one thinking this makes perfect sense?

PS_ Anyway, I’ve put toghether some code, derived from a plugin and some answers from wordpress.stackexchange that adds this functionality, but I’d like to see this in core. Check it out if you need it: https://bit.ly/bv07IH
