Cant set template page

  • I have created a page template so that i can have a page to show only a certain category of posts.

    However when try and set the page template the only thing that is in the drop down is the words “default template”. I have two templates one of which is copied straight from the WordPress Codex and the other is a copy of the original page template. Neither of which show up in the drop down for page template.

    Any help will be appreciated.
