    Hello,
First of all, thanks for such an awesome plugin.
I know this question is not new for you. Many of us are looking for a way to add an extra field to the YMM Search. My question is: Could you please provide the exact name and location of the files that need to be modified, in order to implement an extra field to the Search?
I’m using the make_model_engine_year modification and I would like to add a new field called “Type”, just between Make and Model, like: [make_type_model_engine_year]

I’m not a programmer but I know the word “type” is a reserved word for many programming languages.

I already made several attempts to add the extra field by searching the word “make” in all the files and trying to add “vtype” (vehicle type) to the different files with no success.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Contact me by email [email protected]

I will send a “Make Series Model Engine Year” version to you.

Then you will rename capital word “Series” to “Type” in the files:
    wp-content/plugins/ymm-search/etc/config.php
    wp-content/plugins/ymm-search/view/frontend/templates/product/view/tabs/restriction.php

Hi @pektsekye, as @eleeme said, thank you and congratulations for such a great plugin. I’m facing the same issue, looking for a way to add more dropdown inputs in the horizontal search form, in order to add custom fields (attributes from wp_postmeta table keys/values fields) for my site’s visitors. That way, they could sort of “pre-filter” the search results of replacement parts in our store. If there’s any procedure to do that editing the files (I’m basic level programer and good to recognize patterns in order to code level customizations) I would really thank you for such a valuable help.

    Cheers from Mexico,

    Hello,

    to: guerreromarketing

There is a modification to display attribute drop-downs after the make and model selects:
“Attribute drop-downs after selecting make and model”

Thanks for the fast and amazing tech support!

    Thank you very much, @pektsekye!

Please could you post a version for this: “Make name, Model name, Year, Engine, Cylinders”? The last two are included in the csv replacement applications file that was sent to us, so they will be filtering options for the search form :′)

Very nice for your fast and great tech support!

    Hello,

    to: guerreromarketing

I don’t have a “Make, Model, Year, Engine, Cylinders” version.

You can use the “Make Model Year Engine” version:
    https://hottons.com/ymm_modifications

And then modify it to add an extra field.

Just search for the word “engine” through all the files and you will find all the places in the code that you need to change to add your extra field.
