Auto-update wants to create "root" folder and fails

    Problem as mentioned in title.

    My server runs on Ubuntu, and I have used ISPConfig 3 to set up everything. Now, for some reason, this script makes somewhat odd paths to client accounts. Basically, the path to the site running WP is inside the main /public_html/ as such: /home/vds/public_html/client1/web1/web/

    Every time I try to auto-update the site itself, or plugins, the updater decides to try to create that last /web folder, and fails miserably.

    Anyone used WP on this kind of setup, or know why this happens?

  • howdy. i was also having issues with ispconfig on a debian server. i changed the php invocation to SuPHP instead of fastCGI and it finally worked.
    that said, on my server, all sites are located in /var/www instead of in each user’s home directory.
