I am using the legacy version with data-column filtering addon. The filter drop-down list shows the correct filter text but the actual filterterm being used is stripped of spaces and HTML characters. So the filter “Texas A&M” becomes “texasam’ so the filter doesn’t find any matching records.

I think this is a datables issue so I was wondering if there is a custom command I could use as a workaround.

Perhaps creating a hidden column of the stripped versions of the filters and somehow searching that column. Maybe somehow replacing or escaping the & character?

    I appreciate any suggestions.

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

This is indeed a known issue in the old (and retired) TablePress Column Filter Widgets Extension, which does not work with content that contains e.g. & characters. However, this has been fixed in the modernized and updated version of this feature, the Column Filter Dropdowns feature module that is part of the TablePress premium versions.

It’s not possible to fix this with just a “Custom Command” and the legacy version of the Extension won’t receive further updates. I therefore recommend checking if upgrading to TablePress Pro would be an option.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
