Hi, can anybody help me with the following problem / error?

If a guest user (not logged in) is adding a product to cart via “add to cart button” it is not working for the first time. The cart page stays empty. Also if you refresh the page it’s not changing.

If the user is clicking the add to cart button second time, the product is correctly added to the cart. Also if the user is logged in it works properly.

The problem occurs for simple and variable products.

We are using a caching plugin which I deactivated. The error is still there. I also deactivated all other plugins but the error is still there.

    Can anybody help?

    Thanks!

    Hi there @stilvol,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It seems like there could be a few different factors at play here if the issue persists even after deactivating all plugins.

Here are a few steps you can take to further troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Temporarily switch to a default theme like Storefront to see if the issue persists. If the issue is resolved, it could be a conflict with your current theme.

    2. Even though you’ve deactivated your caching plugin, your hosting provider might be using server-side caching. Reach out to them to either clear the cache or disable it temporarily for testing. You can also read more on caching from this guide.

    3. Check for any fatal error logs under WooCommerce > Status> Logs and then share them with us by pasting it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Hi, thanks for your reply and your help! It took some time but turned out to be a theme problem with two woocommerce snippets regarding related products and upsells:

    https://woo.com/document/change-number-of-related-products-output/
    https://woo.com/de/document/change-number-of-upsells-output/

Somehow these changed the cart process. We deleted the snippets and it’s working fine now…
