    Hello,

We’re considering moving our maintenance client websites from WordFence to CleanTalk. When comparing features it seems most of the same features are covered. What about Removed or Abandoned Plugins, does CT have some solution like that?

    Thanks

    Hello @wpcsphil,

Thank you for the great questions!

No, CleanTalk does not inform about unsupported or removed plugins.

But we are close to release (2-3 weeks) a function that informs users about known vulnerabilities among installed plugins and themes. A beta version is available, you can turn this option on,

WordPress console -> Settings -> Security by CleanTalk -> General Settings -> Modules vulnerability detection

This feature helps to stay secure, even a plugin doesn’t have updates for a long time frame.

PS Have you ever really used ‘Removed or Abandoned Plugins’ feature? What was your reaction if you got a notice that a plugin could be abandoned?

Ok, thanks. Definitely to using the information, we start reaching out to the developer and researching to see if a fix seems imminent. If not, then we start looking for alternatives to those plugins and replace them. Plugins removed from the repo are given a higher priority and it can be indicative of a known security issue.

    Hello,

I think, the coming CleanTalk ‘Modules vulnerability detection’ can help to partially replace the ‘Removed or Abandoned Plugins’ feature, as it will inform you about known vulnerabilities, and you will be able to take measures to protect your website.
