    Hello!
Unfortunately I can’t share the URL with you but I will try to describe my problem thoroughly. I recently installed Complianz (free, version 7.0.3) and I have Youtube integration added and the placeholder option on.

The problem is that when going to a site with an embedded Youtube iframe, the placeholder is usually not right away shown. It looks like there is an image but a user can’t know that it is actually a video. When I open developer tools, the placeholder manifests and is shown on the top of the image as it should. Sometimes the placeholder is shown right away but I can’t decipher why it happens sometimes but not everytime.I have tested this with Chrome, Firefox and Safari (with private browsing) and it behaves the same in them all.

In my understanding the embeds are added as links in Classic Editor.

We have Autoptimize in use and probably it can have some effect. I have whitelisted complianz.min.js in Autoptimize but do I need to whitelist more Complianz related scripts?

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hello @leipomalla,

Does the issue still occur when you temporarily disable optimization plugins such as Autoptimize, or is it resolved by doing so?

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno and thank you for your answer!

Yes, that resolves the problem. Do you happen to know which Complianz scripts I could whitelist in Autoptimize? Wouldn’t wanna disable Autoptimize totally.

    Thanks in advance!

I found the documentation https://complianz.io/configuring-autoptimize-with-complianz/ and tested with the first parameter (

    domain.com/post-name/?ao_noptimize=1

) and with them placeholder works fine. We didn’t have the option ‘Force JavaScript in <head>’ on. I have whitelisted complianz.min.js and complianz.js in excludes, but still no.
Interestingly in mobile the placeholders manifest when the site is scrolled but in desktop they don’t manifest without opening dev tools and not even then every time.

    Hi @leipomalla,

Rest assured that you won’t have to disable Autoptimize entirely, my suggestion was just to test if it’s indeeed resolved by doing so.

I would check if you have a feature such as Lazy Loading iFrames/Videos enabled in Autoptimize, as this seems to correspond with the behavior you’re describing. You can try the same approach as previously, to check whether the behavior can be resolved by disabling this feature.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Thank you for your help @jarnovos! Unfortunately the problem hasn’t solved yet but you helped a lot.
