JavaScript Error with CookieYes GDPR Plugin on WP 6.4.3
-
We’re experiencing a critical issue with the “CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent” plugin version 3.2.0 on WordPress 6.4.3 and hoping someone here can help. After activating the plugin, my site started throwing JavaScript errors, the most noticeable being “Uncaught ReferenceError: wp is not defined” in the browser console. This seems to suggest a conflict between the plugin and WordPress core scripts.
Here’s a quick rundown of my setup for context:
- WordPress Version: 6.4.3
- CookieYes Plugin Version: 3.2.0
- Active Theme: Engage
- Other Active Plugins: Custom Post Type UI (v1.15.1), Disable Emails (v1.8.2), Elementor (v3.18.3) + Pro version, ElementsKit Lite & Pro, Gravity Forms, JetMenu, Jetpack, Redirection, Search Exclude, TranslatePress, UpdraftPlus, User Role Editor, WP Mail SMTP, WP Rocket, WPS Hide Login, Yoast SEO, and a few others.
The error persists even after deactivating other plugins, pointing to a specific issue with CookieYes. This is particularly urgent due to GDPR compliance requirements and the overall functionality of the site.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions, temporary fixes, or insights would be greatly appreciated. If the developers are around, your input would be invaluable to not just me but potentially others facing similar issues.
