Problem with urls generated by Converter for Media

    My Google Search Console account is crawling many URLs like “wp-content/webpc-passthru.php” that seem to be generated by the WordPress Converter for Media plugin. In addition, low-quality backlinks appear on Ubersuggest that point to some of those urls. Why is it generating so many urls? Is there a way to resolve this in advanced settings?

    Thank you for your message.

    I will be grateful if you explain the whole situation thoroughly. If you have the webpc-passthru.php file in your URL, it means that you have changed the image loading mode in the Advanced Settings tab in the plugin settings. Please tell me why you did this? Please restore the default settings there and do not change them, then the plugin will not change URL addresses.

    Hello Mateusz, thanks for the quick response. Well, I don’t remember if I changed that setting. The loading mode that is currently activated is “Pass Thru (without rewriting in the “.htaccess” files or in the Nginx configuration)”. Do I change it to “?.htaccess? file / Nginx (recommended)”?

    @aperez9426 Yes, please change this setting to the recommended value.
