Hi! I’m getting an impressive 99% result in in PageSpeed thanks to Guest mode, but it’s completely braking my site on desktop. Is it possible to enable this mode for mobile only? My speed is already good in the desktop version!

PS: After some tests, I think it’s the UCSS that is braking my site on Desktop!

Edit: I kinda “solved” it by adding ‘/’ to the UCSS URL Exclude, but now when I tap the articles in my front page it’s as if it doesn’t recognize the touch. I can scroll up and down and interact with the menu, but I can’t with anything that is a “link” below the header.

Edit2: It starts working on mobile again if I leave it idle for a little.

Correction: It doesn’t start working after going idle on mobile. What happens is only the top half of the touchscreen is recognizing when I tap. I cant interact with anything under the lower half other than scrolling.

You don’t seem to have understood the special features of guest mode (yet). Guest mode is a “cheat mode” that only helps ensure that the first request of a page with maximum optimization produces the maximum best optimization and thus the best score. However, this only applies if you check your site manually at PageSpeed/Lighthouse. You don’t get the actual review and score from Pagespeed/Lighthouse, but from the user who calls home the relevant data to Google via the Google Chrome API. However, not only the first request is used to evaluate your site, but all subsequent requests and only these determine the score of your site. If you let PageSpeed rate your site, this rating does not correspond to the actual rating. This means that every effort you make to improve the score value depending on the device has no relevance whatsoever and therefore will not improve your score (or anything else).

Thanks for the answer! I still feel it’s necessary since without it I get 33/10 on mobile just because there is a video or a large content in my posts!
