I’m selling digital products. Once the order has been made, I recieve the email as usual, but the links aren’t working. When I click them, they open up a new tab, which then quickly gets closed.

This doesn’t not happen when an existing user places an order, but it’s not mandatory to be a user in order to make a purchase. Is there anyway to solve this?

Just an update, now it happened to an existing user as well. It just opens a new tab and then closes it

    Hello @littlesofia ??,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the download links for your digital products.

Firstly, please ensure that the ‘Downloads Require Login’ option is unchecked under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Downloadable Products. This ensures that non-registered users can also download the products.

It might be due to a conflict with one of your plugins. Try deactivating all your plugins except WooCommerce to see if the issue is resolved. If it is, reactivate each plugin one by one until you find the one causing the problem.

Let us know if this helps.

@ckadenge It was unchecked, how can it be a plugin conflict when the link in the email doesn’t work? It opens a tab but quickly closes it

@ckadenge I have had issues before with emails too, it was the confirmation email in the woocommerce regristration. The exact same thing happened, it redirects to a page that doesn’t work

    Hey, @littlesofia!

how can it be a plugin conflict when the link in the email doesn’t work? It opens a tab but quickly closes it

Let’s do some further investigating before running a conflict test ??

I’ve checked your thread about it and noticed it was not solved there. Do you mind sharing how you solved this issue?

Regarding the link, if you go to WooCommerce > Orders > Click on the order > Click on Downloadable product permission > Copy link, are you able to open the link then and download the file?

If you right click the link on the email and copy it, is it the same link as on the order?

Have you modified any email templates?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

@carolm29 I solved it by doing some email configurations. I don’t exactly remember what, but it wasn’t properly setup with the email provider.

@carolm29 I tried it and yes I am, but it’s not the same link.

The one I copied from the website is way shorter. The one from the email has a https://url5087. at the beginning but the one from the website do not

That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know.

The discrepancy between the links from the email and the website might be due to some email configurations. The email system might be tracking the clicks on the links in the email, which can add extra parameters to the URL.

However, this should not affect the functionality of the link. It might be worth checking with your email provider about this.

If you’re comfortable with it, you could also try temporarily disabling the email click tracking feature to see if that resolves the issue.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know how that goes.

@shameemreza I solved it. It was my email dns that wasn’t properly setup again. I appreciate your time and effort since I was clueless where to look from the start. Have a nice day ??

    Hi @littlesofia,

I’m glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue with your email DNS.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now.

If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.

you can check the link generation process to ensure that the links are correctly formatted and accessible regardless of the user’s registration status. It could be helpful to review your e-commerce platform or plugin settings to confirm that non-users have the appropriate permissions to access the download links.
