Importing umlauts in wp-table-reloaded
-
Hi,
when I try to import a csv-file in wp-table-reloaded as a new table, the umlauts are displayed as question marks in a rhombus.
The csv file is created using Excel 2010, but the effect is the same when using UltraEdit to create a file from scratch and behaviour is browser independent (at least for IE/FF).
While writing this, I had another idea and found the solution myself:
Open the excel created csv-file in notepad and save it using the utf-8 (and not unicode) encoding.
I found some makro-based examples to save directly to utf-8 from excel but for me this workaround is fine.
