I am having some weird errors in chrome but not safari after the latest update of WordPress. All of my plugins are updated. I am on a Macbook M1 pro running Sonoma 14.2.1

    1) On my website page listed above, on Chrome a number of images are not available including the header image. On Safari (and even on my ipad version of chrome), I can see those images.

    2) On chrome, I am getting errors when I use the classic editor plugin. It won’t let me click in the edit box. If I disable classic editor, it will let me edit, but it won’t let me save. On safari (same macbook) I don’t have any problems.

    3) On chrome, when I select Widgets I get a whole bunch of errors telling me that there are errors and I should look at the developer tools. Not sure what that means.

I thought maybe it was a plugin incompatibility, but disabled all plugins and still got that error.

I thought it was a theme incompatibility, I am using an older theme, but I changed themes to a newer theme from wordpress and still got those errors.

I tried to replace the header, and the saving failed.

Not sure what to do now.

    Help!

    Hello @kafclown

Seems like it’s because of mixed content and some of your images are loading with just ‘http‘ protocol instead of ‘https‘.
    Try going to
WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General
And check if the ‘WordPress Address (URL)’ and ‘Site Address (URL)’ have https:// in front of them. If not, change it from https:// to https://

If that does not solve your problem, please reply or contact your hosting provider ??

Well, I changed them both to https:// thinking that would be that, and now I get (on both Safari and Chrome):

    This page isn’t working

https://www.clownlink.com redirected you too many times.

    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

How do I get back to the original?

    Hey,

I could see the website’s loading fine on some pages but homepage indeed was giving an error. I think you should contact your hosting provider (Dreamhost in your case), since it’s probably a redirection problem in server configuration file.

I am sorry about your bad experience.

Well, I nuked all of the other themes that I wasn’t using, and nuked all of my old plugins, and re-installed fresh plugins, and that seems to have worked. My dreamhost guy suggested I look at in incognito and that worked and I was able to login, so something had gotten screwed up somewhere along the line. Seems to be working now. So I wil mark this as resolved.

    Thanks for your help! @surviving404.
