The language switcher which appears at the bottom of the screen is very difficult to use on mobile, you have to tap it to open it, and it automatically selects and switchers to the language that’s directly under your finger.

Is there a way of changing the trigger functionality so that the first touch opens the menu, and then allows you to select the preferred language?

    Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

You should be able to go to TranslatePress Advanced Settings => Miscellaneous Options => Open Language Switcher only on click.

Thanks for getting back to me, have enabled this but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Is this because this setting says:”This will affect only the shortcode language switcher.”?

My client is using the Floating language selection option (and wants to continue using this).

?Indeed, that option is available on our shortcode language switcher only.
?The way the floater switcher is constructed makes it difficult to implement a similar solution there. maybe we will rethink the way of working in the future but at the moment we are not offering a custom solution of this kind.
?However, we have documentation in case you want to create a custom switcher:?https://translatepress.com/docs/developers/custom-language-switcher/.
