[Plugin: Anyfeed Slideshow] Trying to use slide show plugin with Picasa feed

    Hi! Still trying to test the anyfeed slideshow plugin using a Picasa album feed. I’m pretty sure that I’m now using the correct feed URL since I don’t see the error message anymore. Now, the title appears in the sidebar but the slideshow doesn’t. Thanks!!

    Hi Soleil,

    No trouble at all! My site is still fairly new and is always a work in progress!

    My blog is located here: https://www.heatherbrazee.com. I have your plugin installed on the live site, but have been testing it locally. The feed that I’m trying to link to is located here: https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/ohippyday/albumid/5533135981309185777?alt=rss&kind=photo&hl=en_US

    Hi Heather,

    I have a feeling this problem is being caused by the way the RSS feeds are downloaded. For security and sanity reasons, Javascript does not allow you to directly interact with files on other servers, a decision called the “Same Origin Policy“. Presently, I have PHP download the RSS feed to the system defined temp folder, and read it from there. This is apparently not a winning solution for all folks!

    I will put together a live proxy script which should resolve this issue. Look for version 1.0.2 for the fix!

    Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this with me; Without the support of folks like you, WordPress plug-ins would be doomed to be forever buggy and unusable. ??

    Version 1.0.2 has been released which should resolve this problem.
