Remove smush data from wp_postmeta

Smush does offer a configuration option where you can choose whether to keep the data or delete it all upon uninstallation. You can locate this setting at Smush >> Settings >> Data & Settings.

To address the issue, I recommend reinstalling the plugin and ensuring that the “Delete” option under Smush >> Settings >> Data & Settings >> Uninstallation is enabled. Then, proceed with uninstalling the plugin.

That should help with removing all the data associated with the Smush plugin from the database.

Thanks for the clear instructions! I followed them, and some of the entries are now gone from the wp_postmeta table, but the following keys still exist:

• smush-marked (1)
• wp-smush-ignore-bulk (2)
• smush-stats (4990)
• smush-info (5178)
• smush-complete (5178)

Should these have also been removed? If not, I know how to remove them manually, I’m just not sure if it’s safe to do so.

These keys were created the previous Smush versions, and it’s OK to remove them manually by running SQL queries. Please make sure to backup the database first.

Thanks for your help! I’ve removed them by hand.

After looking at the values of these meta keys it turns out that smush-info is created by WP-Optimize, and smush-stats is created by re-smush-it, so sorry to have bothered you!
