• Hi,

I’m using the free version of all in one WP migration. I need to migrate from one directory / domain to another. I have created an export file on the old WordPress instance, but the file is way too large to be imported to the new one. And the tips how to increase the file size did not work.

I therefore made a clean install of wordpress, plugins, theme in the new wordpress instance, and I used the native wordpress export function to export all media files to xml and import them into the new instance.

And then I want to use the ai1wp migration plugin only to migrate the database, i.e. I made an export on the old instance with the following settings:

    1. search old_domain_name and replace it with new_domain_name
    2. check all the excludes except database

This export file is small enough to be imported in the new instance. However: if I load the DB only export file, the warning message says that exerything including plugins, themes, media will be overwritten. Thats when I stopped the import:

    Is this really true?

My expectation would be: when I import a file that contains only the database, then only the database will be replaced, and everything else will stay the same.

Thanks in advance for your help
