I’ve been having trouble connecting my WordPress account to Jetpack. I also seem to be unable to connect my website, though at first it says it was successful, I will then receive an error message. I should also mention this problem occurred after switching from WordPress hosting to Bluehost. I really hate Bluehost. I regret not being able to afford keeping my WordPress service – sorry, losing focus…

These are some of the errors I am receiving, both initially, and during Jetpack Debug:

Invalid request, please go back and try again.

    Error Code: connection_disabled

Error Message: This site has been suspended.

If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting the Jetpack plugin, uninstalling/reinstalling, debugging fails, and I’m just not sure what else to do. Looking in my jetpack iPhone app, it says I am connected since September 29, 2023 , but I have NO stats at all, which should not be the case. Just says “No data for this period” and under the “Published” category, it says “An error occurred”.

    Please send help. Thank you.

  • Hi and thanks for reaching out! We’re sorry to hear you are off to a rough start with your new service. It sounds like perhaps the WordPress.com account linked to the plugin was deleted when you canceled your service with them. Jetpack does require an active user in their system for Jetpack to work. From here you will want to either create an account and link your site to it or if you still have an existing account, you can link it there.

We have a helpful article in our Knowledge Base titled, “Jetpack – Create WordPress and Account Setup”. Check that out on our website for step-by-step directions and you should be back up and running in no time! If you have any issues or if there is anything else we can do to help, please feel free to reach out to our support team by phone or chat.

I appreciate the response @bluehostsupport, however, I am incredibly frustrated with the complete lack of help I’ve received since switching. Not only have I had to rebuild my site from near scratch (I was locked out of my WP account before I could have just exported it using a plugin but was given BAD instructions by your sales agent when transferring hosting because they were trying to flipping upsell me on having BH do it!), my iCloud custom domain emails STILL don’t work (as they cannot pass DKIM verification for some unknown reason even though I’ve contacted BH support 4 times about it – been told 3 times it was fixed and once I’m on my effing own!), and this annoying problem – this problem, keeping me from being able to monitor my site – like that one time it went down because for SOME REASON, not of my own making, the SSL key was removed/changed, and I was left to notice my website was down on my own when I happened to go look at it. So yeah, in short its been a “rough start”. Anyway, I’ll check out the article you’ve mentioned and try again.

    Hi there, @realphotoworks,

Did you have the chance to check the support docs the folks at Bluehost suggested?

I checked the Jetpack connection and it still looks broken/disconnected.

The error you reported doesn’t seem to be related to something we can directly fix on our end, but we’ll be happy to take a closer look if you still are getting this error upon attempting another reconnection (or if you get a different error).

Let me know what you find out!

    Hi @erania-pinnera,

Thank you for checking in. Still have not been able to sort this out, despite following the steps in the article linked by @bluehostsupport.

If you have any ideas, I’d appreciate the help.

    Thank you,

    Steve

    Hi @realphotoworks,

I dug a little deeper and made a small change on my end.

Please try cycling the Jetpack connection by deactivating Jetpack in your wp-admin dashboard at Plugins > Installed Plugins and then reactivating it and connecting to WordPress.com again.

Also, make sure you’re running the latest version of the plugin ??

More info on how to do that can be found here: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/

Let me know how you go!

    Dear @erania-pinnera,

YOU ARE THE BEST! Thank you so much for helping me fix this problem!

I am back up and running with Jetpack – absolutely NO thanks to @bluehostsupport who I guess decided to ghost me on this one. No surprise there, unfortunately…

Anyway, thanks once again, @erania-pinnera! Hope you have a wonderful day.

    Hi there, @realphotoworks,

I am really glad to hear you’re all set, and thanks for the kudos! I am little less happy to hear about the bad experienced you had with Bluehost: I recommend sharing the feedback with them so they can improve ??

I’m going to mark this thread as solved. If you have any further questions or need more help, you’re welcome to open another thread here. Cheers!
