I have the google maps API key already added to the plugin and ensured that geolocation API is enabled in the google console. The plugin however only appears to geocode SOME locations eg London and Paris are geolocated no problem. However a city like Stockholm or Boston isn’t. Also using specific addresses such as street name, London, England, POSTCODE appears not to work. I have attempted several variations of addresses to no avail. The only thing that works is using a single city name and even that works only with some larger cities.

I’ve just tried creating a job listing with “Stockholm” and Geolocation works. I have attached a screenshot from my testing:

Are you submitting the job via the front end job submission form or through wp-admin? Could you try using the front end form?

Can you also try to check if there are any third party plugin or conflicts:

These steps temporarily disable all plugins and revert to a default theme. It’ll only affect your logged-in session without affecting the public view.

    1. Install Health Check plugin on your site
    2. Download and install Twenty Twenty-Three on your site if not installed already
    3. Go to Installed Plugins. Click Troubleshoot on WP Job Manager
    4. Try submitting a job listing through the front-end form and check if the geolocation metadata is added in the custom fields.
    5. Once you are done, go back to wp-admin and disable troubleshooting mode through the top bar.

    Hi Deric,

I really appreciate the response. I’ve tried the sequence you outlined to no avail. And then went back to where my API keys are and disabling the restrictions appears to make it work although that’s highly frowned upon as anyone can make requests if they ever got a hold of my key. I think I can say with confidence it’s not an issue related to the plugin but rather to the google API keys.

    Hi @charlesgm,

Thanks for letting us know. Sounds like we’re all set here (as far as WPJM goes), so I’m going to mark this thread resolved. If you have another issue or question related to WP Job Manager, feel free to open a new thread ??
