    Hi there,

    I’m working on using the Better Search Replace plugin to remove the old WordPress url and replace it with the new domain.

    Example: example.nxcli.net -> newdomain.com

    The first time I run the plugin, it shows that it has replaced all of the files. I then run a dry run on all the same database tables and then it tells me that there are more cells that need to be replaced… I can do this over and over but the plugin still says that the old url is still in in the database tables. The tables are usually different every time but wp-options always has the old url in it.

    Is it possible that the plugin creates more dynamic links with the old url somewhere in the databases after running a dry run?

    I’ve tried debugging the plugin but there are no errors outputted.

    Thanks!

  • Hi @asharpe38602,

    Better Search Replace Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query! We would be happy to assist.

    The plugin only replaces based on the search/replace operation. It doesn’t create any dynamic links with the old string/keyword after a dry run.

    Can you please try running the operation again (with dry run unchecked), and check the options table right after if the old domain remains? If the old domain still exists, please share what option names still has it.

    Please make sure to create a backup before doing so. Let us know how it goes!
