MemberPress integration

We are trying to work with BestWebSoft to ensure full compatibility with their Pro version. There are some things that don’t work fully with their integration presently.

Thanks for the message.

As mentioned in the plugin description, Simple Cloudflare Turnstile does integrate with and support MemberPress Forms.

There is no detailed documentation available but we have written a setup guide for the plugin here: https://relywp.com/blog/how-to-add-cloudflare-turnstile-to-wordpress/

All you need to do is install the plugin, add your API keys, and in your case, enable the options for MemberPress.

Please note this is a completely free plugin, with no paid version. Support provided is voluntary and not guaranteed.

@caseproof Do you mean that the free version will no longer be valid?

Can you provide details on what is not functioning?

And which version of MemberPress or reCAPTCHA is experiencing issues? I’m currently on reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (the latest version is 1.74), and MemberPress 1.11.20 (the latest version is 1.11.24). With these versions, does it work? Can I update only MemberPress? Or only reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft?

Any idea when the issue will be resolved? (If my versions are functional, I would prefer to wait a reasonable amount of time).

@elliotvs I’m confused about the “Cloudflare” thing,… because I’m not using Cloudflare,… I only use WordPress + MemberPress,… Does the plugin work for me?

@pautgn I believe you can use Turnstile for free, even if you’re not actively using Cloudflare on your domain.

Cloudflare is the maker of Turnstile. There is no charge to use Turnstile. However you do need to create a Cloudflare account, no charge, in order to use Turnstile. You will get Site Key and Secret Key from Cloudflare so that you can use Turnstile on your site. These keys are specific to your domain.

When you setup Simple Cloudflare Turnstile, there are links to get these keys from Cloudflare.

What Simple Cloudflare Turnstile does is implement Cloudflare Turnstile on your site. When someone looks at a form where you have placed it, Simple Cloudflare Turnstile communicates with Cloudflare Turnstile and Cloudflare Turnstile does some quick calculations to see if a human or a bot wants to submit the form. If it determines it is a human, it allows the form to be submitted. In most cases, there is nothing a person needs do. There are no puzzles to solve.

@pautgn, it requires BestWebSoft’s Pro (paid) plan, but their integration doesn’t fully work with MemberPress yet. For example, some registrations will fail, and forgot password forms don’t always work. I don’t know a timeframe on them fixing that. I would highly recommend this Turnstile plugin in the meantime as it works fully well with MemberPress.

@caseproof But since when does it require BestWebSoft’s Pro (paid) plan? Because on your website, you were always talking about the free version. Is this something recent? Can you confirm that the free version will no longer work? I’ve been using the free version for almost 2 years now.

Also, here, where you were talking about the BestWebSoft plugin, and now you have changed the content of the page: https://memberpress.com/addons/recaptcha-by-bestwebsoft/ the documentation link goes to a wrong page, not to a page with documentation about the new plugin configuration. It would be helpful to include steps on how to deactivate the plugin you were previously recommending and activate the new one. Is it just deactivate + delete? And then install the new one?

Unfortunately the BWS plugin updates keep breaking our integration, which has a real affect on users when their registrations suddenly stop working.

We’re attempting to help BWS get the integration working fully on their end, and they will maintain it from there. As far as I know it will only be in their Pro plan, but that’s something you would need to confirm with them.

However, this Turnstile plugin by @elliotvs is both free, and so far has been very reliable ??

@pautgn, as far as I know those two versions are still be compatible with one-another. BWS 1.74 was the version that broke it again.

@caseproof As I need to update MemberPress to 1.11.25 because it includes a security fix,… If I still use reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free) and don’t update to 1.74, will both versions still be compatible? (MemberPress 1.11.25 and reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free)).

We have not heard back from BWS yet, so they have not integrated with that latest version of MemberPress yet. You can upgrade, your MemberPress forms still wouldn’t be protected by BWS, but it won’t break your registrations or login forms at least.

You can contact MemberPress support team for more information about how to apply the security patch without upgrading too.
