Hi and hope you can help. I’ve just set up Redirection to redirect one page (mygoforthegreen.com/our-company/) to the new site location (tworg.com/about/). The plugin says it’s working (response 200 OK) but Redirect test gives me Invalid request parameter result. Our host is InMotion Hosting and they recommended using a plugin vs. direct htaccess edits, which I don’t feel overly confident doing but could manage; they said WordPress redirects work better with a plugin).

    Reading through support documentation:
    – Rest API seems okay as there is a lot of data there (checked json file);
    – PHP is up to date; I have no message telling me there is a conflict caused by Cloudflare (which is set up on the mygftg site)
    – I’ve cleared my browser (latest Firefox) several times.
    – double checked accuracy of URLs I entered (https://mygoforthegreen.com/our-company/ and https://tworg.com/about/).

Can anyone kind helper suggest what I need to do to get this working?

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Linda (not very technical type)

I don’t know where you are seeing the invalid request parameter, but your page appears to be working:

    https://redirect.li/http/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmygoforthegreen.com%2Four-company%2F

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, John. The link you included is the information I receive, too. When I search for “mygoforthegreen.com/our-company”, that page comes up instead of the tworg.com/about page I thought I’d redirected to. That’s why I’m so puzzled.

The get the invalid message popped up when I tested the redirect.

Update: checked plugin page on site again and saw this message (it wasn’t there before):
    API working but some errors.
    URL: https://mygoforthegreen.com/?rest_route=/

GET POST TypeError: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.

Unable to make request due to browser security. This is typically because your WordPress and Site URL settings are inconsistent, or the request was blocked by your site CORS policy.

I just checked and my WordPress and site settings are exactly the same. Will check the link provided to REST API info to see if that helps and post back. I have no idea how to check CORS policy…above my tech limited knowledge level.

Thanks again for your help with this,

    Linda

So it should redirect, or it shouldn’t? If it should, what redirect did you create? A redirect won’t change your search results that quickly, and it may take some time to update.

    Hi John,

Good news! When I checked the redirect in the plugin on Admin panel, I got a positive message with “200 it’s working”. When I plugged in the URL on the old site, it redirected perfectly to the page on the new site!

So time seems to have helped and all is well.

Thanks for your time on this. I love the simplicity of your plugin!

    Linda
