    Hi,

Usually, crawlers are initiated from the ip of my server, and use the user agent “lscache_runner”
    I think this is normal.

Which is less normal, is that I notice access from foreign ip address with this user agent.
Should I be worried about that ?

For example 31.131.4.244 or 198.38.89.73 which are not ips owned by my hoster.

    Thanks

these 2 IPs are from our server , the plugin may interact with our servers for certain feature/functions

    Hi Qtwrk,

Ok, so I’m going to “re allow” access from these IPs. But, honnestly, their crawling is quite agressive.

Is there a way of limiting requests to one per second, for example ?

With robots.txt and using “lscache_runner” for the user agent, but just concerning these 2 IPs ?

Thanks for your informations about these IPs. there are so many attempted web attacks every day … tiring for humans and servers … so when you know where an ip comes from, it’s crucial.

I’ll try to find a way to limit these IPs a bit (some little delay).
However, I’m not sure it’s possible, given that the user agent is the same as the one used locally… We’ll see.
