  • New users are added to the main blog as subscribers when they signup, and if they choose “gimme a blog” they are also an administrator of their own blog.

SuperAdmin->Options->Dashboard Settings can let you set up an alternate blog(aka “Dashboard Blog” for all users to be a subscriber of. WordPress.com calls it the Global Dashboard.

Users of the network must belong to at least one blog in order to have a dashboard in which to look a their profile. Since they don’t have to choose a blog at signup(or can remove themselves from a blog any time they like), what will you do with users that have no blog at all?

When a user without a blog tries to login, they are added to the dashboard blog. It needs to be that way.
