    Hi there,

I am building product tables and testing my current website and I just realised I need to add custom fields to my products so a filter can be properly used.

However, I have no idea how to create a custom field and would like some help. I currently have the information I would use in these fields within the tags section.

Let me me paint you my ideal scenario based on the link below.

    https://matthewm288.sg-host.com/product/florentine-8-inch-statue-saint-patrick-52987/

I would like to have customer fields that could bring products up based on their “subject” i.e. saint’s/devotion such as St. Patrick,

their “material” i.e. plastic, resin, ceramic etc.

their “size” – self explanatory but I might use a generic size – not the information based in the measurements section.

their “grouping” or other custom grouping i.e. Florentine statue, renaissance statues etc

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey there, @mmk175! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Let me confirm if I understood your goal correctly:

You want to add custom fields to the products and have your customers be able to filter the products according to them. So when they look for “plastic” they will see the plastic products. And also have it be organized by subject, is that correct?

It is possible to add custom fields by using a plugin.

You can search for “woocommerce custom fields“, or something similar, on the Plugins > Add New section of your dashboard or on a search engine like Google, for example.

Please note that we do not provide support for third-party plugins, so it is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @carolm29,

I have a better understanding of custom fields now since I asked this question.

Do you know if there is a way to add receptive custom fields to many products at one time?

    Hi Pepe

Bad timing on my part. I marked this as resolved and opened a new topic here. I thought it was more specific.

I will have a look at what you provided.
