Only Creates EAN For First Product In Store

Do you mean that you have generated EAN numbers for your products, but the EAN Number not appear else only for the first product?

If possible, please send a screenshot of the problem or a video explaining the problem in more detail so that we can help.

Also check that the settings for the plugin are the same as your old site.

No, when I click “products” the first item at the top of the list has a valid number in black. Every EAN number for every product after the first has only 3 digits that are red.

Im not using as many plugins on this site as the other and the ones I am using I also use on the other site so I’m not sure what’s going on. The only difference in the two sites are the theme. Botiga on the other & Astra on this one.

All plugins are updated and I just updated the theme today.

First, did you create EAN numbers manually or automatically, using the plugin or via import? You must take into account the conditions required for the EAN number based on the plugin settings. You can rely on your old site and set the same settings for the EAN plugin if possible and tell us the result.

yeah I’ll check the other site & see what settings I used. I thought I used the same ones but I’ll check. The other site I’m pretty sure they generated the numbers.

OK so I copied the exact setting from the site with the working plugin and I’m getting the first maybe 15 to 20 products with EAN numbers then the last 20 or 25 or whatever is left with a 3-digit number. I have no idea why it’s working for half the products and not the other half.

I’m not sure if I got the issue correctly, but if you are generating EANs with our plugin, it will not?overwrite EANs for products with existing EANs. So if you had previously set EANs for some products, new EANs will not be generated for them. In this case, I suggest first running our “Delete all EANs for all products” tool and only then the “Generate EAN for all products” tool.

Sorry if I confused you, I’ll start from the beginning. I just finished this new site and want to use the plugin because it works perfectly on my other website. So I installed using the same settings as the other site I use it on and only about 60% of the products have a13 digit EAN # generated and the rest only a 3 digit number that is red sometimes. It’s black in this image but when I uninstall then reinstall trying a different setting the 3 digit #’s turn red for “invalid” while the other 13-digit EAN’s for the first 15-20 products are fine. When I try to delete all EAN’s then generate them again it’s the same thing. I’m using Astra free theme with WC, both up to date. Also, all the plugins I’m using are the same plugins I use on the other website, the only difference is the theme.

Hmm, that’s odd… Could you please try these steps and let me know if that solves anything:

1. Go to “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools”, check the “Reset section settings” checkbox at the bottom of the page, and “Save changes”.
2. Check the “Delete all EANs for all products” tool checkbox and “Save changes”. After that, please confirm if EANs for all your products were deleted (including invalid 3-digit EANs).
3. Check the “Generate EAN for all products” tool checkbox and “Save changes”.

I tried what you said and get the same results. The first image is so you can see how the top product has the full EAN number and the bottom one has a 4 digit number…the others have a 3 digit number. When I delete all EAN’s then try to generate numbers it says 0 numbers were created.

Ok, so the problem is definitely in “EAN generated for 0 products” – it shouldn’t be like that. What about the “Delete EANs” tool? Does it say “EAN deleted for 0 products”?

It just says “your settings have been reset”

oh, it said “deleted all EAN’s for 90 products then I generated EAN’s and it worked. THANK YOU!! this was driving me crazy. I appreciate your help big time!
