Bug report – YITH gift cards

  • Hi, I installed and configured the plugin to sell gift cards and so far so good. However, I noticed that there is a serious error in its use.

    Once the customer receives the gift card code and uses it in checkout, two errors appear:

    • If the value of the gift card is higher than the value of the cart (therefore the order total is €0) it is not possible to proceed to checkout and place the order. Not even with a custom payment gateway. An error appears telling you to select a payment method even if you select the custom one.
    • If you use a discount code from a purchased gift card but do not complete the order, the balance will still be deducted. As if it has been used but in reality no order has been placed yet!

    This last error occurs even just by moving from the cart page to the checkout page, without actually clicking on the “Pay” button!

    I have already tried disabling all plugins except YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards + WooCommerce and the problem remains. I also tried changing the theme and the problem remains.

    I use wordpress 6.4.2 + WooCommerce 8.4.0

    We tried to replicate your issue in different sites and it worked fine during our testing. There might be something related to your site and how to manages the orders.

    I think that the problem is with the new Woocommerce blocks thing.. I’ve also tried to replicate the problem with other 3 virgin installations and it didn’t worked fine.

    Is there something that I can do about it?

    Hi,

    Our plugin is not compatible with the new blocks of WooCommerce, however you can replace them with the previous shortcodes for the cart and checkout which our plugin is compatible.

    Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with our plugin.
