More than one RSS Feed on a blog / template

Hello!
I am using WP for 2 months now as the base of my homepage. Since now I had only the news (blog) on it and was wondering if there is way to extend the functionality on a second blog. I am talking about a list of files for my portfolio.
Or is it more easy to install wp in a parallel directory and apply the just the same template?

Ok, or let me put it that:
Is there a way to use different templates for different categories (at the same time)?
