    Hi,

I’m puzzled as to why all Mailpoet 3 Newsletter thumbnail (including template uploads) are geterated as 0 bytes on one site only.

I’ve cloned the site with Updraft and thumbnails are generated as expected.

I’ve deleted and re-installed Mailpoet, still no thumbnails.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the details. So, it is creating 0 byte files, but not writing any data to them. When you replace it with an actual image file on the same site, does it load as expected?

Have you taken the following steps? If not yet, please do.

    • Review this page to see if you could be facing any of the issues outlined there.
    • Completing?a conflict test?to see if any plugins could be affecting it.?

    Let me know!

    Hi B C, a11n,

Thank you for your suggestions, however these suggestions did not resolve my issue.

The problem is not with IMAGES saving, loading or being displayed. The problem I encounter is ONLY with sent Emails and Email Templates.

When I create or import a TEMPLATE there is an image associated, but that TEMPLATE is 0 bytes. The same happens with sent Emails where the Email is all saved and useable as expected, but again there is no preview.

    Working on development site.

    Not working on live site.

Please note this isn’t a show stopper because when selected the template performs as expected. It is only the preview that is effected.

    Thanks

    Nigel

    Hi again Nigel,

Wow, that’s very odd indeed. I have tried to reproduce it on my own site and I can’t.

Are there any differences between your staging and live sites? I am asking because the only thing I can think of is some kind of conflict only present on your live site.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers

    Hi Dani F. a11n,

Thank you for your reply, indeed it is strange, I have two wordpress sites on that host and both behave the same way, i.e. the preview does not work!

The only difference is the host,

    Hi there Nigel,

Thank you for sending those over. I’m not sure whether this is what’s causing the issue, but I do see that your production server lists imagick_availability: false, while it is true on the Staging server (where I understand the preview images are working as expected).

Since that library is used for creating and modifying images, having it not available on the production site could be related to the broken preview images for the templates. You could try switching that on for the production server and then check to see if that resolves the issue.

Aside from that though, I think it would be a matter of going through and making sure everything is matching between your staging and production servers (since it works as expected on staging).

Since you’ve indicated that it’s not a showstopper and you can “just continue as is”, then that’s certainly an option too!

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
