• For some time now (early December), applicants have been receiving the message “Not a valid file-type selected”. An application is no longer possible.

I have tried both .docx and .pdf in my tests – neither worked. Any tips?

We had the same issue. We noticed that the file extension types accepted were missing in our Job Settings. We got it to work by declaring the file extension types accepted in the back end.

    1. Go to your WP Dashboard (make sure your plug in is activated)
    2. Go to Settings on your left navigation
    3. Select Settings, again, from the drop down options
    4. Then on your settings page, select Apply Form
    5. On the file upload fields, declare the file extension types accepted.

Once we declared the file types, we tested it and the font portal worked again, submitting the application once again.

    Hope this helps.

Hej, i can not find this points:

    1. Select Settings, again, from the drop down options
    2. Then on your settings page, select Apply Form
    3. On the file upload fields, declare the file extension types accepted.

Same issue here. How can I add file-types? I don’t see the steps named above in the plug-in.

    Also having the same problem.

Settings > Apply Form > Field Type (File upload) > Accepted File Extensions

Have added .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .pdf in the “Accepted File Extensions” section but it does not make any difference. Not a valid file-type selected still showing as and error on the form.

Bump – any news on this problem?

Uploading file types that are accepted by wordpress by default (pdf) does not work. Any info on why this might be?

I found the setting under Jobs for WordPress – Settings – Apply Form

Select ‘File upload’ in the Field Type dropdown field, and then fill in the ‘Accepted file extensions’ field at the bottom.

We have released a new version that ideally would not need any change to your current plugin settings.
We would be grateful if you could confirm that the issue has been fixed on your end.
    Thank you for reporting issues!

Thank you very much for the quick work and your great plugin!

It now works again – but one of the pdfs is not beeing sent – I think the “Motivierungschreiben” is the one that’s missing (in german). I sent two pdfs but only one arrived. I will test again also testing the option to add multiple pdfs.

Same here: The message appears for all applications: Not a valid file-type selected
