manually translate welcome email in membership

Hi,

I manually change the text for welcome email user gets once he becomes a member; but those emails still arrives in english (default text; not the one i change manually in settings). i don′t have any cache plugin. I tested by creating 2 brand new accounts as vendors, but still the same. Why is this happening and how to fix it, please?
