I have a book tour coming up in a few weeks. I’ve begun to create the planned events, and have added a Book Tour link to my menu that takes visitors to the The Event Calendar slug. All of that works, but for one detail: the Events page loads December, which is empty. I’d like to have The Event Calendar page to the first month with actual events if the current month is empty. I’m already playing with .htaccess to get what I want, but I’m hoping there’s a possibility to configure TEC to do what i want

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @florismk,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you’re currently using the month view on your calendar, it will always display the current month. However, if you’d like to see upcoming events without being limited to the current month, you can try switching to the List view. This will allow you to view all events in a list format instead of a monthly calendar view.

    See- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-the-calendar-default-view/

I hope that helps, and please let me know if you have further questions or concerns.

Thanks for your response! I’m actually using the list view by default, but when visitors hit the month view control, they end up on the current month. I’ve added a rule to .htaccess to redireft to Jan, but that rule is not applied when navigating from list view to calendar, unfortunately.

    Hi @florismk,

    Thanks for your response.

I understand that it can be disappointing to see an empty month view. That’s why, in case there are no events available, we have added a helpful feature that displays a link directing you to the nearest month with an upcoming event.

    See- https://share.zight.com/9Zu4l6bY

If that doesn’t work for you and want to pursue the redirection feature, that may be possible with some custom coding. But if you decide to give that a try, please note we cannot provide full support for custom implementations like that.

Let me know if you have further questions or concerns.

Thanks Darian! I’ll go with the .htaccess redirect solution for now.
