• Hi,

Lately I’ve been getting this message when I try to add a link to my facebook page from my site: “Nothing found for Index Php…” this will be followed by the year then month then rest of the link, for example: “Nothing found for Index Php 2010 10 Woody-harrelsons-father-was-a-contract-killer”

Another thing it sometimes says instead is: PROXY: Post Title. In this case, at least it seems to come up ok, but just preceded by the PROXY.

I also notice outbrain seems to be having the same problem when trying to scrape some of my posts for the title. This doesn’t happen with all the posts, just some. The pages themselves come up fine and if you look at the browser rendered page source, that text is nowhere to be found.

I haven’t made any changes to my site in the last few weeks since this started happening, so I’m kind of at a loss. I’ve searched this message, but only seem to be able come up with tons of other site’s that have pages that are saying the same thing when scraped. I haven’t been able to come up with anyone who is actually addressing the issue.

I thought maybe it had something to do with caching, even though I’ve been running quick-cache for a while without any problem, so turned it off and tried again, but got the same message, so I don’t think it’s the caching plugin doing it.

Any ideas what is going on here?

The full list of plugins I’m using are (all updated to the most recent):
    akismet
    contact form 7
    digg digg
    lijit search
    outbrain
    platinum seo pack
    quick cache
    wp-email
    wp-mail-smtp
    wp page numbers

Here’s the website, in case that’s helpful: https://www.todayifoundout.com

  • I can’t see any problems with your site.

Yep, that’s the mystery. The site itself loads perfect and that text doesn’t show up anywhere (not even in the page source). But when you try to add a link on facebook or when outbrain scrapes the posts, that message comes up around 50% of the time, instead of actually getting the post. On the posts that message comes up on, it comes up every time. Like facebook’s scraper and outbrain’s scraper can’t find it or something.
