Click Tracking Custom Events not saving

    I’ve installed the plugin correctly. Entered my G4 Measurement ID and saved the settings, checked track all links, disable page view tracking, Enable G4 debugging mode.

    On the tracking tab under Click Tracking I’ve clicked add event, filled out the fields and pressed save and nothing, no event is listed there. It’s not saving.

    I’ve disabled all other plugins, same result, clear cache, same result.

    WordPress Version is 6.4.2 on Siteground servers. PHP version 7.4.33. Browser is Chrome Version 120.0.6099.71 OS Windows 10

    Please provide assistance.

    Hi @allanmunro,

    I can see that a Universal tracking tag is loaded after ours and overrides it.

    Are you still using it? If not then removing it will fix this.

    Hi Yuval, thanks for having a look, I really appreciate it.

    I’ve removed that universal tag, clear the server cache, cleared my browser cache but I’m still getting the same result. I add an event under click tracking and save and nothing. It doesn’t appear.

    Hi @allanmunro,

    The click event doesn’t seem to show on the website. So it’s either cached, which you already cleared, or maybe a bug.

    Can you please send us an export of the configuration via email?

    Hi, I’ve emailed the config file through to you. I can’t actually create a click event as it doesn’t save. Just goes back to the click tracking tab and there’s nothing there.

    Thanks Yuval for all of your work looking into this.

    For anyone reading this in the future, the issue for me was in my WordPress Database. In the wp_posts table, the ID was not set to AUTO_INCREMENT

    Fixed that and the plugin worked like a charm.
