I’ve always imported my spreadsheets from excel (xlsx) with prices in cells stored as text.

    Like
    $820
    $1,270
    $1,270

I only update the tables once a year, so I have just noticed that they won’t import anymore and the cells with prices import with ‘0’ or some other single number.

I used the rollback plugin to restore previous version of tablepress and it import correctly in the Version 2.0.4.

What’s changed? i don’t think I can use CVS format as my prices have commas.

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

This could be related to changes in the format detection handling of the Excel import engine that TablePress uses.

Now, to work around that, using the CSV format would indeed be the best solution, as it removes all ambiguity around the data format in table cells. Also, Excel will properly handle the commas in your data here, as it will then “escape” the data. TablePress can then also detect that.

So, please try again with saving your Excel table to a CSV file and import that into TablePress.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

The CSV UTF-8 format worked, thank you.
