I’ve got a feature request, not sure the best place to submit it.

Sometimes, when sending post notifications, one or two or several dozen of them fail for one reason or another. In my case, the reason is often that the email service I use is somewhat flaky and for an hour or two, it will not correctly process the sending.

When this happens, it’s GREAT that Icegram Express notes those emails as “Failed” in the database and reports, because it means I can go into the database (MySql Explorer) and change the status for those notifications (in the ig_sending_queue table) back to “In Queue” and have them “resent,” usually successfully.

It’d be great if there were an easy way to do this through the Plugin UI. Either a button I could press on the report to “retry failures” or an option on the post notification/campaign/plugin level to “retry failures automatically” after the full list is attempted the first time.

    Hi @turbodb,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.

    Appreciate you sharing your suggestion!

Currently, our plugin attempts to send an email three times, and if it’s still unsuccessful, it is marked as not sent on the report page. However, there’s an alternative – you can manually send it by clicking a round ‘send now’ icon on the report page.

If you have any additional questions or if there’s something specific you’re referring to other than this, feel free to let me know.

    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks @shubhanshukandani.

I think the three attempts to send the message are done in succession. What I’m suggesting is to run them “at the end,” or “as a batch” so that once issues with the mail server are resolved, I can click a single button to retry them all.

In my situation, I send 2 emails every 7 minutes, so if my mail server goes down for 3 hours, 50 emails fail to send. That means that later I have to go through clicking on 50 “send now” buttons, and I need to do it over three hours to be within my mail server limit.

It would be a lot more convenient to simply click a “retry errors” button, and have IG Express go through the “sending” process again for any messages in a campaign that were marked as failed.

Just wanted to see if there are any plans to update/address this?

    Thanks!
