Mini design contest

  • The prize is non-existant, and the glory is minute, but you may want to take a look anyway.

    My blog, https://kendallball.net, is always having its headers changed by me, the author. Sadly, my Photoshop skills are limited to cropping, messing with colors, and changing fonts. When it comes to actually designing something, I am lost.

    So, in return for much kudos on my blog (I only get about 150 hits per day), I am looking for someone to come up with an image for me to incorporate into my header graphic. I am looking for an artists pallette, but instead of paint blobs, I want there to be little piles of letters…getting at the “words as art” theme. Ideally, it would be a semi-close up, so that even in a 713×98 image, people could tell it was a palette, and it has letters. I dunno…you guys are the geniuses, I am a hack.

    As you can see, the support has been overwhelming, and I’ve had to turn down scores of eager designers, vying for the exposure my little slice of blogdom will bring!

    Well, I’m sure you can find better, but it sounded like a cool idea, so I gave it a shot. Please be kind to a neophyte designer, however, constructive criticism is always appreciated. If you like, it’s all yours.

    I love the graphic…that’s exactly what I was looking for. Would it be possible to send me that pallette as a .png or .psd file? Not to be too harsh, but the fonts you picked ain’t exactly my style! The artwork, however, is fabulous. I’ll let you know in a few days or so if I choose to use it. I’ll be out of town til Sunday, so don’t get too blue if you don’t hear from me before then!

    What type of font would you prefer? I was just trying to maintain the paint idea, obviously. But sure, I could send you a file. Give me a chance to clean it up though.
