Hi, We recently switched hosting providers and during the changeover there was briefly a staging site – I didn’t know to shut off Jetpack before this happened. Anyway, the staging site no longer exists, the website is moved, but every time I update Jetpack we’re thrown back into “safe mode”. I don’t know how to stop this from happening. I get the option to “move Jetpack data” — “Move settings, stats and subscribers to other URL” and I select that, so everything should be moved to the actual site address, and Jetpack tells me that’s been done. But, next Jetpack update, the problem recurs. How can I make the settings permanent? Thanks!

    Hi @2cats,

I can see from your description that you were running into an Identity Crisis with your staging website.

If you can share with us both URLs involved, we can look closely; meanwhile, you can uninstall Jetpack and install the following plugin to clear its database entries. You can then reinstall and connect Jetpack again.

Let us know how this goes.

Thanks for this — if I follow your instructions, will we lose that stats that we have so far? This is the site URL: https://hardyferns.org/ and the old staging site was reg-e32952f44e.nxcli.io?— I checked that out and it now redirects to hardyferns.org.

    HI @2cats,

Thank you for waiting while we were working on an unexpected amount of support requests.

No, you should be fine. However, if something happens, just let us know and we’ll look into this for you. Try to follow the indications from the article my colleague linked earlier and let us know if the issue persists.

    Best regards!

    Hello @2cats

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

Thanks so much for checking in — I have been away most of the week but plan to try this on Monday.
