• Hi all,

Just starting using WP to run a site for a new documentary. Everything is up and running fine, but I want to make the homepage a custom (static) design. I’ve already set this up under the ‘Reading’ tab and I understand that I must create a custom homepage design and upload it.

However, I want to incorporate a few items from my current theme (Twenty-Ten, modified) and use them in the custom HP design. Like the navigation menu — I’d like to incorporate it into the new homepage design so that updates as I add to it in the dashboard. Problem is I’m not sure where to find the code! I’m used to more basic management (HTML+CSS) so I’m not sure which WP doc on the server has the code I need to place into my new homepage design for the nav.

    TIA,

    JVK

Thanks esmi. While that page is helpful, I don’t see where I can just pull what I want from the existing templates; I think I’m looking for the ‘wp_page_menu’ tag but I don’t see where it’s been implemented in the existing templates…

wp_page_menu is the default template tag used by wp_nav_menu when there are no custom menus. So you won’t see wp-page_menu in the template files – just wp_nav_menu.
