    Hi

    I’m using “Advanced data table”

Is it possible to show only the search field and column headings but not the table of records?

    https://ibb.co/vcbnM5q

When the user enters a word in the search field, the table with the entries should appear

    Thanks!

  • Hello there,

Hope you’re doing well. Thanks for the reference picture to help us understand the issue better.

Regarding your query, it is possible to display only the Search field and Column Headings without the table contents by setting “Rows Per Page” to zero using EA Advanced Data Table.

Navigate to Edit Advanced Data Table -> Advanced Features -> Rows Per Page and set the number to zero. It will also display the tables with the same contents when you type the contents in the search field.

Please check out the screencast here: https://d.pr/v/pN79cP

    Hope this helps.

Let us knw if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hi Oaurunima,

if I set rows per page = blank, the records are not visible and when I search it returns the result correctly.
But deleting the value in the search field shows the entire table of records e.g. 600 lines (when it shouldn’t show these lines)

    Thanks a lot!

    Hello again,
    Thank you for the feedback.

I have checked the issue you mentioned and found out that after removing the values from the search field Advanced Data Table is indeed returning all the table contents and it only goes back to it’s previous state after refreshing the page.
This seems like a small bug on our end. I have already discussed it with our dev team and they are currently looking into it. We will let you know as soon as we find a fix for this.

Let me know if you have other queries regarding our plugin.
    Thanks for your patience.

    Thanks

    Hello @ntemosnikos,
    Hope you’re doing well.

Regarding your query, I have discussed it with our Dev team. They notified me after thoroughly investigating the issue that, it was not a bug on our end. The main feature of the EA Advanced Data Table is to show the content of the table and the number you set for “Rows Per Page”?will determine how many rows of content will be displayed when searched for a value in the Search Bar. This is how the widget is supposed to work.
Now, the way you want to display only the Column Headings, it does not align with our widget’s feature and it is also not possible to implement with just applying Custom Codes. We are extremely sorry for that.

However, thank you for this suggestion and we have added this to our Internal Feature Request list. If this feature ever gets implemented in future, we will definitely let you know.

Let us know if you have any other queries regarding our plugin.
    Have a good day.
    Thank you.
