Removal of EXIF data not working

    I am testing Smush with SiteOrigin Vantage Theme and 10Web Photo Gallery.

    I have set Smush to remove the EXIF Meta data but when an image is loaded into the Photo Gallery the EXIF data can still be seen in the backend and also in the lightbox.

    Hi @jupiter1955,

    The Smush plugin can only help with optimizing images uploaded via the Media Library in the WP dashboard.

    It seems like the mentioned plugin has its own interface for uploading the images and hence such a behaviour was noticed on your side. The Smush plugin typically functions smoothly with 3rd-party plugins, provided they adhere to the default WordPress workflow for image uploads. In cases where they deviate from this standard process, the Smush plugin might not operate as expected.

    I gave a quick test but I’m not able to find the images uploaded via the gallery plugin present in the Media Library, ie under Media > Library in the WP Dashboard side.

    If the above is how the plugin works by default, then I’m afraid, it’s more of a compatibility issue.

    I’ll make sure to bring this further to our Smush team’s attention to check if there could be any further integrations that could be considered in future.
